Simply the best Italian cooking in Tucson! We always bring out-of-town guests here - from the SE side of Tucson, and even with the high gas prices, it is worth the drive. Never disappointed - either in the food or in the excellent service.Review by TRG Staff on April 10th, 2008
We stopped in fairly late on a Friday. We could have sat outside with no wait but opted for a short wait for a table inside. The staff was friendly and efficient. The hot food was not spectacular but was pretty good and met expectations. The salad bar was better than expected with everything looking to be very fresh. Inclusion of typical Italian antepasto items in the salad bar was nice. The dessert tray was very tempting and we both indulged.Review by anonymous on April 4th, 2008
I think of Italian food and Contessa is the only placce that comes to mind. By far the best over all those others. Freshness comes though in every bite. Always treated like family.Review by anonymous on November 26th, 2007

What a delightful experience! Reminds me of the neighborhood restaruants I grew up with back home. Meatballs...best in Tucson! Eggplant best on the planet! Great sauce & chicken parm too! $8.99 all you can eat is a steal! The wine is a baragin to
